Paris-based Davis, an AI company that compresses early-stage real estate development timelines from months to days, has raised $5.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Heartcore Capital and Balderton Capital, with participation from Evantic, Yellow VC and Entrepreneur First, alongside angels from SpaceMaker, Meta, Hugging Face and Black Forest Labs.
The company was founded by Moroccan co-founders Mehdi Rais and Amine Chraibi. The pair met through Entrepreneur First's Bridge programme in Germany and became one of the fastest teams in EF's history to receive IC approval.
In an interview with Tomorocco, Rais, who grew up on construction sites in a family of architects and previously founded profitable restaurant reservation startup Saturdayz while at Sciences Po Paris, said he chose technology over architecture because he "couldn't accept entering a profession where I wouldn't excel."
Davis is already deployed with developers and expects to support hundreds of projects over the next year. The company operates as a service rather than selling software, delivering finished architectural outputs directly to developers and investors.
It is also announcing Gaudi-1, its first proprietary model for automated architectural generation under regulatory constraints. Rais credited a network of Moroccan diaspora founders, including Mehdi Ghissassi (AI71, ex-Google DeepMind), Tarik Benabdallah (Pelico) and Adam Lasri (Yellow VC), with supporting the company's early development.
