📖 This article is the 6th and final part of wider series on “How to find a co-founder” – you can check-out earlier instalments here.
Not everyone is lucky enough to find their ideal co-founder right away.
Many founders in MENA start off solo, either because they haven’t met the right partner or because circumstances made it hard to bring someone on early.
If you are still searching for the right co-founder, or weighing up whether to go it alone, know that you are far from the only one.
Several of the founders we chatted to experienced this phase, and they offer a mix of encouragement and practical tips for how to approach it:

Stop chasing signatures and wires for your next transaction. Streamline the entire process through one platform.
Zest helps fund managers, investors, and entrepreneurs digitize their deal execution to save time, reduce costs, and simplify communication.
Design your deal, invite your participants, and execute your transaction, all in one place.

1. Don’t settle, be patient for the right one:
Perhaps the most emphatic advice comes from Mostafa Amin:
“You really have to be patient until you find the right people.”
He strongly advises not to embark on a startup solo if it’s your first time, unless you truly can’t avoid it:
“I don’t advise first-time founders – or even second-time founders – to go and build companies solo… It’s really tough. It’s very hard.”
There are exceptions, he notes: if you’re a second- or third-time founder with a successful exit, you might have the experience, capital, and network to manage alone for a while.
