Replit has acquired Atta, the Menlo Ventures-backed AI business analysis startup co-founded by Egyptian Omar Shaik and Tunisian Amine Ben Khalifa, closing a loop that opened with a cold email two years ago.
In a LinkedIn post, Shaik recounted how wrote to Masad asking him to invest in Atta, and Masad and CTO Michele Catasta, after seeing an early demo of Atta's charts and data apps on an infinite canvas, wrote a cheque the same day. Both founders now join Replit, while financial terms remain undisclosed.
Atta built tools for business teams to investigate performance without routing every question through specialist analytics workflows, examining KPI changes, modelling revenue scenarios, and exploring pricing and retention.
The first capability from the deal is already live; interactive, AI-generated charts directly in Replit chat, available on paid plans and working alongside BigQuery, Databricks and Snowflake connectors, letting users connect data and ask questions without writing SQL or choosing the analytical method or visualisation themselves.
Replit tripled its valuation to $9 billion this year while targeting $1 billion in annual recurring revenue, and Masad and co-founder Haya Odeh were selected by Endeavor as the network's 100th unicorn and its first from Jordan.
It is also the third acquisition in recent weeks in which a MENA-founded technical team has been absorbed by a US platform, after Egyptian-founded DevOps agent company Stakpak joined Vercel and Moroccan-founded ZeroEntropy was bought by Notion.
